Cork shares many positive characteristics with leather, such as high wearing comfort, however it does not contain any animal ingredients. Many people also find that cork, as an absolutely natural product, is much more pleasant, beautiful and convincing than leather in terms of surface feel and appearance.
It is also water-repellent, breathable and somewhat elastic. Last but not least, it offers a beautiful and natural surface textures that makes every watch strap a unique piece.
The cork obtained from the cork oak is first bathed in water. It is then dried for several months before being fixed to a thin base to create a tear-resistant end product.
During cork extraction only the outer layer of the tree is scraped off - so that no tree has to die in the process. The subsequent production process is also resource and environmentally friendly.
