XL Watch Straps 22mm
XL watch straps are longer than straps in regular length. They fit large wrists and big watches, and help when a regular strap only closes on the last hole. Almost all XL straps are leather, most in 18 to 24mm, many also in 26 and 28mm. You can choose between pin buckle, folding clasp and butterfly clasp. Some series also come in XXL, with even more length.
When is an XL watch strap the right choice?
You need an XL strap when a regular strap only closes on the last hole or does not reach at all. This mainly affects large wrists and big watch cases. With XL, both parts of the strap are longer than in regular length, so the buckle sits more centrally and the strap is more comfortable to wear. If XL is not enough, some series come in XXL with even more length. The exact measurements (length A and length B) are in the product details.
Choose XL watch straps by lug width
First you need the lug width of your watch, the distance between the lugs. Almost all XL straps come in 18, 20 and 22mm, most also in 24mm. For big watches, many series are also available in 26 and 28mm. Narrower widths are in the filter under strap width.
Our guide shows How to measure lug width and strap length.
Choose XL watch straps by clasp
About half of the XL straps have a classic pin buckle. The others come with a folding clasp or a butterfly clasp. A deployment clasp opens on the wrist without pulling the strap out of the clasp. This is gentle on the leather, and the watch cannot fall off while you put it on.
How the two deployment clasps work is explained in our guides to the folding clasp and the butterfly clasp.
Choose XL watch straps by colour
The strap colour depends on the case, the dial and your style. The widest choice is in brown, black and blue. Brown XL watch straps go well with gold and rose gold cases. Black XL watch straps suit almost any watch. Blue XL watch straps look best with a blue dial. Red, yellow, orange and white are in the filter.
Standard spring bar or quick release
About half of the XL straps come with standard spring bars and half with quick release spring bars. With quick release, you pull back the small pin on the spring bar and change the strap without tools. Find out more on the page for quick release straps. For standard spring bars, our guide to changing a watch strap shows every step on video.
