A NATO strap is a pull-through strap. It is threaded under the case through the spring bars, which stay in the watch. That is why it also fits watches with fixed bars. You will find more straps for fixed bars in a separate category.

Our guide how to fit a NATO strap shows the steps one by one.

Advantages of NATO straps

The strap runs under the watch in one piece. If a spring bar comes loose, the other side still holds the watch on your wrist.

Nylon is tough and copes well with sweat. It absorbs little water and dries quickly after rain or sport. If it gets dirty, wash it in lukewarm soapy water.

A leather NATO strap is built the same way but looks more classic. Leather should not go into water and needs a little care now and then. Our guide caring for a leather strap explains how.
