Leather watch straps Quick Release, Page 14
Leather watch straps in many colours and styles: smooth, grained or croco embossed, flat or padded. On many models you can choose the lug width and strap length directly on the product page.
Leather straps by lug width
The lug width is the distance between the lugs of your watch. Choose the matching width in millimetres. Our guide shows you how to measure lug width and strap length correctly.
Leather straps by colour
Brown and black make up most of the range and go with almost any watch. Brown leather straps look good with gold and rose gold cases, blue with a blue dial. Red, yellow or green add an accent.
You will find beige, pink, purple and other colours in the filter.
How to find the right leather watch strap
Besides width and colour, the leather and the padding decide how a strap looks and feels. Smooth leather looks plain and classic, grained leather has a visible texture. Straps with croco embossing have an embossed pattern but are not crocodile leather. Suede is roughened and matt, some series are vegetable tanned or have a vintage look. Flat straps sit close to the wrist, padded straps are thicker in the middle and look stronger.
For special watches there are leather straps made of genuine ostrich, alligator and crocodile leather as well as deer and buffalo leather. Straps made of hydrophobic leather are treated to repel water.
Clasp and length
Most leather straps have a classic pin buckle. Many are also available with a folding clasp, butterfly clasp or safety folding clasp. You will find all versions among our straps with deployment clasp. The regular length is M. If it is too long for you, there are short XS straps, if it is too short, long XL straps and XXL for some series.
Standard spring bar or quick release
A little more than half of the leather straps have a standard spring bar, the others a quick release spring bar. A quick release strap fits any watch with standard spring bars: you pull back a small lever on the spring bar and change the strap without any tools. Read more on our page about quick release straps. Our guide to changing a strap shows how it works with a standard spring bar. Straps with standard spring bars are supplied without spring bars. You will find matching ones in our accessories.
How to clean and care for a leather strap is explained in our guide How to care for a watch strap.
